      The University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland FHNW: Shaping the future

      The FHNW is a leading university of applied sciences in Switzerland. It is composed of ten schools at four main campuses in the operating cantons Aargau, Basel-Landschaft, Basel-Stadt and Solothurn.         The Stiftung FHNW supports the FHNW University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland in fulfilling its social, cultural and scientific responsibilities. It promotes innovative, outstanding and creative projects and activities in teaching and applied research.

        The FHNW fulfils a fourfold mandate from the Swiss Federation and the Swiss Conference of Cantonal Ministers of Education (EDK): education/training, applied research and development, continuing education, and services to third parties.

        The FHNW is an intercantonal public institute with its own legal entity and the right of self-administration within the framework of the state treaty of 27 October/9 November 2004 and the respective four-year mandate.

      • Schools

        FHNW University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland comprises ten schools, each consisting of various institutes.

      • Swiss Challenge Entrepreneurs' Programme

        The FHNW University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland promotes entrepreneurial and sustainable activities among SMEs, students and other university members.
